Cons

  • Can only be special summoned under its condition.
  • Blue-Eyes Ultimate Dragon is already difficult to summon, making summoning Shining Dragon even more difficult.
  • Attack and defense is lower than the required tributed monster.
  • Cards like Yomi Ship, Mirror Wall, or Order to Charge are somewhat common, and they can still destroy Shining Dragon.

Instead of getting Blue-Eyes Ultimate Dragon through fusion, you can use Cyber-Stein's effect to special summon it. Increase your LP to more than 5000 to use Cyber-Stein's effect when you have Shining Dragon in your hand.

An alternative method to special summon Blue-Eyes Ultimate Dragon instead of fusion summoning. Flip summon Summoner when you have another monster on your side of the field, and when you have Shining Dragon in your hand.

I think there is a glitch with its effect, its own effect should block other effects/spells/traps so why is it when i go trhough the effort of summoning it,every effect or spell that targets it beats the crap out of it? does it negate nothing?

This isnt just one duel, I have summomed this thing multiple times, even made a deck specifically to summon it, and litterally anuthing that targets it will affect it no matter what

Can you use Fusion Tag to change the name of a monster to Blue-Eyes Ultimate Dragon and tribute that monster to summon this card?

Future Fusion only helps if you have Dragon's Mirror, though. Meaning you need to play as Chazz.

I had a tryhard Kaiba wanker summon this on me, and he thought he had won, with his 4500 ATK. But then I activated my own Polymerization, summoned Ultimate Antique Gear Golem, and owned him with it. I got it to 4900 ATK with one Antique Gear Castle and one Machine Assembly Line I had on the field, and my Engineer had destroyed his Mountain before. The ultimate power belongs to your teacher, dropout boy.

It has less ATK than BEUD

Yeah it will have more ATK if there are more dragons in the graveyard, but the OP anon only says "dragon deck" and did not mention anything about having other dragons in the graveyard

This card is stupid, sure targeting immunity is nice, but the cost to summon this card is a 4500 ATK Fusion monster that took 3 materials to summon.

And this card hits the field with less ATK than that Fusion monster, assuming no other Dragon is in the Graveyard.

There really aren't, though. The best ways to "cheat" BEUD onto the field exist in Duel Links too. (Summoner of Illusions and Cyber-Stein.) I guess you can copy its name with Supreme King Dragon Starving Venom or Windwitch - Crystal Bell, but both of those would require more deck investment than BEUD in the first place.

No, Fusion Tag only works if the monster is being used as a Fusion Material. It doesn't change the name in the same way as a card like Neo-Spacian Dark Panther or Hero Mask does.

How so? If you're thinking about Mirror Wall and Wall of D, then those do not target. Stuff like Econ, Man Eater bug and Massivemorph don't work on it, though.

I've summoned shining about 10 time... maybe more, I've negated enemy controller... and then died to wall of disruption...

Ps. I've negated the dark magician version of this card with Champion's Vigilance... That shouldn't be possible as CV only negates normal summons.

No CV REQUIRES a normal monster on your side. It negates every type.
PK
BESD is useless, mirror wall, wall of disruption and other traps that don't specifically target one monster still affect this card.
