Skill Details

Return 1 card from your hand to your Deck. Then, randomly play 1 "Grand Tiki Elder" or "Melchid the Four-Face Beast" in Defense Position from outside of your Deck. After using this Skill, You cannot Normal or Special Summon any monsters other than "Masked Beast Des Gardius" until the end of your opponent's turn. This Skill can only be used once per turn, and twice per Duel.

Subterrors have been beatable since they were released.

I couldn't care less if they modify the requirements to activate such skill; it's nothing relevant for me, I don't see anything broken there, but more importantly, the deck will remain playable without Umbra & Lumis.

You think the skill is abused because you are terrible at this game. Period, that's the bottom line.

Masked Tribute is the perfect example of the nature of many players out there that don't put effort do well in life or school,but when it comes to exploiting duel links skills,they are top notch,if they use this kind of brains on more important things,maybe they will be really successful,this also proves the reason why laws have to be so strict,imagine if they weren't,people would exploit the hell outta them and do really evil stuff,well that's the evil nature of humans,shame....

Why do you think laws will?
Long time ago, before modern laws exist. Some prophets created Religions to make sure humans believed in God, so they won't do bad things and go to heaven. BUT yet still Religions cannot control them.

What both religion and law teach us is self control. no matter how scary Hell(religion) or Prison(law) is, human still do bad thing

There are many factors why human do bad thing, but mostly because they cannot control their GREED.

the Greed to WIN every matches, is what make players rather exploit the game than play fair.

Don't worry as it's not the exact same way. 2 cards is a very high cost and not viable in the 🔥 meta full of treacherous holes and other crap you need to draw cards to respond against asap.

Dinos do decently against some meta decks, blue eyes and decks relying on neos fusion and connector namely atm. But they’ve definitely dropped off in power and overall usefulness

Even if the modify the requirements to activate this skill, Subterrors will stay as a solid competitive deck. So I couldn't care less about any possible nerf.

But with this skill nerf, they can't E-Con take then Tribute the monster they stole with Nemesis Warrior so small steps.

The monsters played by the Skill are used for something else not intended by Konami.

In Cyber Style's case, the Proto Cybers are not used to fusion summon Cyber End Dragon, but used as tribute for other decks.

In Masked Tribute's case, Konami already took pre-emptive measure by making the monsters can't be used as material/tribute for any other monster besides Des Gardius, but then people use them to pay the cost for other card's effects instead.

I mean, you could also use the skill for other things, like summoning Jinzo, making their trap worthless. Jinzo + power of the guardian is pretty OP

I’m sure it’ll be nerfed before I get it. I’m down to 15 packs in the box I haven’t gotten the SR subterror. Not meant to be for some folks, I guess :(

Your deck must contain at least 1 copy "Masked Beast Des Gardius" to activate this skill.

This way it should be fair enough and Subterrors players will quit for sure

There's plenty of ways to restrict it. Either give it similar restrictions to Cyber Style, require you to have a couple of Des Gardius in your Deck, or Summon Melchid/Tiki from your Deck. Any of those would 🔥 its use in Subterrors while still allowing Des Gardius deck to use it more or less freely.
