Overview

With Cyber Angels still dominating the META after the first nerf, Konami decided to nerf Cyber Angels again back in early January. The nerf made Cyber Angels Dakini and Machine Angel Ritual semi-limited, which means that people have to decide to either play 1 Cyber Angel Dakini and 1 Machine Angel Ritual OR play 2 Cyber Angel Dakini and 0 Machine Angel Ritual.

Because of this nerf people started playing 3 copies of Saffira, Queen of Dragons in their Cyber Angel deck, paired with Hymn of Light which also gives protection to your Cyber Angel monsters, just like Machine Ritual does.

Note

If you only own 2 Saffira, Queen of Dragons, we recommend playing 2x Hymn of Light and 3x Sprite’s Blessing, leaving you room for one tech card like Cosmic Cyclone, Fire Formation - Gyokkou. Having three copies of Senju of the thousand hands is more important than having a third copy of Saffira, Queen of Dragons. Keep this in mind when deciding where to spend your gems.

How to use

The strength of this deck comes from the fact that it can search and cycle a lot of cards, allowing it to very quickly summon Saffira, Queen of Dragons and Cyber Angel Dakini, often with a Cyber Angel Idaten boost on top of it.

Saffira, Queen of Dragons

With Cyber Angel Dakini being semi-limited, meaning most people only run one copy of it now, Cyber Angel decks needed a new boss monster. Some have opted to use Vennu, Bright Bird of Divinity however the most consistent version runs Saffira, Queen of Dragons.

The reason people run three copies of this card is because it raises the odds that you can finish your turn with an Idaten boosted Cyber Angel Dakini AND Saffira, Queen of Dragons.

For example if you start with Saffira, Cyber Angel Benten, Cyber Petit Angel, Hymn of Light and Sprite’s Blessing.

You can summon Saffira by tributing Benten, and search for a Cyber Angel Idaten. You summon Cyber Petit Angel to search for Dakini followed by summoning your Dakini by tributing Cyber Petit Angel And Cyber Angel Idaten.

Whenever you ritual summon Saffira, Queen of Dragons, or a Light monster was sent from your hand or deck to the graveyard, you can activate one of her three effects.

Deciding which effect to activate will usually depend on the state of the game. If you went first and summoned Saffira you’ll more than likely want to draw 2 cards and discard one so that you can do something on your next turn. If you are at a later stage of the game where you have control of the game and your opponent only has 1 or 2 cards in hand you’ll want to discard one of their cards so they can’t get back in the game. The third effect you’ll want to use if you are in need of recycling your Cyber Angel Dakini or Idaten.

The ritual spell used to summon Saffira, Queen of Dragons is Hymn of light, which can also protect your Cyber Angel monsters from destruction, also Machine Angel Ritual can protect Saffira because she is a Light monster.

Senju of the Thousand Hands and Cyber Petit Angel

Besides the effect of Cyber Angel Idaten and Benten, these are the main monsters that allow you to easily add cards from your deck to your hand (searchers). In any card game this is always a powerful effect meaning the more copies of these cards you can have, the better.

Both Senju of the Thousand Hands and Cyber Petit Angel are fairy light monsters, meaning they can be searched by the effect of Cyber Angel Benten. Often you’ll want to summon Senju of the Thousand Hands because its attack combined with the attack of Cyber Angel Dakini (1400+2700) can make for a quick turn 2 victory, however depending on the ritual spells you have access to, there are situations where searching a Cyber Petit Angel is better than Senju of the Thousand Hands, because the 2 stars from Cyber Petit Angel go perfect with the 6 stars from Cyber
Angel Idaten and Benten when using MAAR.

Keep in mind you cannot search for Saffira, Queen of Dragons with Cyber Petit Angel or the effect of Cyber Angel Benten.

Idaten-Benten Combo

An important combo to remember is to ritual summon Cyber Angel Idaten by tributing Cyber Angel Benten. When Cyber Angel Idaten is ritual summoned you can search one ritual spell from your graveyard or deck, and when Cyber Angel Benten is tributed you can search one light fairy monster from your deck. The reason this is so strong is because not only do you not go “minus” (you don’t lose card advantage; you used 3 cards and in the end still have 3 cards; 1 on the field, 2 in the hand) , but you can search for the cards depending on the situation.

That way (depending on your hand) you can chose to add Cyber Petit Angel to your hand, allowing you to search Cyber Angel Dakini and ritual summoning her with Machine Angel Absolute Ritual by tributing the Cyber Petit Angel and shuffling the Cyber Angel Benten from your graveyard back into your deck.

If you have two of the three cards needed for the Idaten-Benten combo in
hand, it’s almost always the right choice to search for the missing piece (if possible) to complete this combo which allows you to bring out your ace monster, Cyber Angel Dakini.

Cyber Angel Dakini

This card only came out last year in the TCG/OCG , so it’s a rather new card, deemed by many, ahead of its time for Duel Links.

The reason it’s so strong is because it has multiple effects and one of the most effective ways of removing monsters from the field.
The effect “make your opponent send 1 monster they control to the Graveyard” , is very powerful because the effect doesn’t target, it doesn’t destroy the monster, nor is the monster destroyed by your effect. Which means a lot of effects from monsters and spells/traps don’t get to activate. Only cards like Gozuki get to, because their effect just says “when send to the graveyard”.

Besides that effect is also inflicts piercing damage, and you can add one ritual monster or 1 MAR to your hand during the end phase if this card is face-up. If you do have MAR in your graveyard, most of the time you’ll want to leave it there to give your Cyber Angel Dakini an extra life, however if you know you can win next turn by summoning another Cyber Angel Dakini, it might be worth to add it, even if it means your Cyber Angel Dakini would be destroyed next turn.

Machine Angel Ritual and Machine Angel Absolute Ritual

Most of the time you’ll want to use Machine Angel Ritual as soon as possible because it adds an extra layer of protection to you while it’s in your graveyard, however depending on your hand, there will be times when it’s better to search for a Machine Angel Absolute Ritual if it allows you to ritual summon more monsters that turn, sometimes going for MAAR instead of MAR opens the possibility to summon two Cyber Angel Dakinis in one turn (if one gets send to the Graveyard with Enemy Controller for example).

Safe ritual summon

Cards that can get rid of your opponent's back row is vital to this deck. Especially since commonly used cards like Floodgate Trap Hole and Enemy Controller are very common in many decks. Doing so will let you ritual summon your monsters and be able to attack safely, as well as allowing you to activate Dakini's effect to send your opponent's monster to the graveyard. If you can summon multiple high attack monsters, you can essentially win the game right away.

Additional Notes

  • As mentioned earlier, even if your opponent has a face-down Enemy Controller, you still want to activate Dakini’s effect in some situations. If you don’t activate her effect , but your opponent can take control of your Dakini next turn and attack you for game, your play was useless. At least this way you get rid of two of his cards.
  • If your opponent has Wall of Disruption (or if you don’t have Mind Scan but you fear a WoD), either only summon 1 Dakini, or only keep one monster in attack position and the rest in defense when attacking. This way only 1 of your monsters will be affected by WoD’s effect.
  • Always remember what cards are in your graveyard (or look before ending your turn), you don’t want to activate Dakini’s effect in the end phase, only to be forced to pick out your Machine Angel Ritual because you forgot you had no ritual monsters in your graveyard anymore.
  • At the start of the turn always think before you make any plays. Think how you’ll hand look like after the Idaten-Benten combo. You don’t want to be in a situation where you can’t summon Dakini because you only have access to MAAR and picked up a Senju instead of a Cyber Petit Angel
  • Put a few random fusion monsters in your fusion deck, if you are playing Mind Scan your opponent might think you are playing Gladiator Beasts and might change his strategy if he goes first

Other useful cards

CardExplanation
Nobleman of Extermination
Nobleman of Extermination
One of the tech cards used in Cyber Angel decks. Can get rid of cards like Wall of Disruption, which is annoying card for a deck like this that likes to swarm the field, or Enemy Control so that you can activate Dakini’s effect.
Cosmic Cyclone
Cosmic Cyclone
Same reason as Nobleman of Extermination, also helps against Ninja decks.
Anti-Magic Arrows
Anti-Magic Arrows
Allows you to attack freely when you can kill your opponent, without the fear of running into Wall of Disruption or Mirror Wall
Hey, Trunade!
Hey, Trunade!
Very useful to prevent cards like Enemy Controller or Floodgate Trap Hole from being used when you ritual summon a monster.
Fenghuang
Fenghuang
Used to clear your opponent's back row before ritual summoning. Even if it's Floodgated, it can still be used as ritual tribute.
Gishki Chain
Gishki Chain
Early draws for your ritual spell or monster, but can potentially backfire. Useful if you have multiple Hymn of Light since sending it to the graveyard is still beneficial

I love seeing how everyone is complaining about this deck just because they invested so much on red-eyes/phoenix/psychics etc.

This deck isn't as OP as some of you say. It's VERY easy to brick on your first hand playing with this deck. CA player goes first > draws Enemy Controller and two ritual spells and Dakini > loses.

The point I was trying to say, is your trying to put "flaws" on an op deck. As "OMG I can't win every single match". A deck that's hard to counter without econ. But the downside you got is "it bricks". Also please on the brick crap. CA deck search out and recycle more then another deck. Even this site rated an S. Never heard of an S until now.

CA (cyberangel) deck is still way too strong.
The machine angel ritual limit to 1x is not enough.

In the kaiba cup (17+) and in legend rank, you see CA mindscan about 70% of the time or so.

You lose in the first couple of turns if you dont have a perfect opening hand for an econ (so that they dont use dakini's efect)/floodgate + enough recover cards.
I say recover cards, as forcing you to use these resources (econ/floodgate/monster) if they can do another summon afterwards can cost you the game too.

Thats completely silly.

Even if you have a great opening hand, it buys you time. Its not necessarily game turned around.

The effects and pressure of CA is too high for the 4k life format.

It needs further nerfing to balance it out.

let dakini limit to 20 and if you play dakini, you have to put 20 lol!!!!!!!!!!!

CA is simple and at the same time its effects are too easy and too quick to use for its strength and otk power.

This results in unhealthy gameplay.

Any descent player and KoG streamers point out how the deck is too easy and too strong. Even laughing how easy it is.

You must have no idea about CA in legend/KoG if you you think that CA is hard.Easiest deck in duellinks so far.

Dakini should be limited to 1. Currently, a lot of CA decks don't need 3 of them. 2 are enough. So limit it to 1.
<< Anonymous

I dont mean to neuter it.
But 3 dakini seems too much dont you think so?

2 would be more fair.
AsceBlaze
This deck looks amazing. It feels slightly slower than Red-eyes and has no spell/trap removal. So it may be tier 1 but on the low end. This site may rank it something like 8.2.
<< Anonymous(AsceBlaze)
AsceBlaze Reply
All I'm saying is, that is apart of the new meta. Not actually surpassing it. No tier 0. It is tier 1 and I changed my opinion on it being an 8.2. It is a 9. Everyone will Econ it. If you add measures against Econ, then you're wasting the precious deck space you need to make this a tier 1. Thereby slowing the deck down and leaving it vulnerable to the faster tier 1 decks.
<< Anonymous(AsceBlaze)
Ale Reply
you can't have a tier 0, it's click bait. First of all, every deck has counterdeck. So even if everyone plays this in the following 3 weeks, we just tweak meta to a 2-deck battle. Then you will see a third deck to just adapt, then new expansion, etc..

So tier-0 is just a click bait of few days, you will have a balance among at least 3 decks after a while.

If this is not true, the game is RIGGED

Konami should release Cyber Angel Natasha and Cyber Angel Vrash to Duel Links. CA needs more support!

They should've certainly released Natasha INSTEAD of Dakini because then CA wouldn't have gotten such a power decrease.

To explain clearly every thing after Jan nerf : "Read Limitation rules in the game in order not to be shocked" xD
You will be allowed to put only one of these cases :
1) 2 Dakini
2) 2 Machine Angel Ritual(MAR)
3) 1 Dakini , 1 MAR

Ex. : (I know It is not practical but just to explain) Now Before 2018 , MAR and Champion's Vigilance are limited (only 1 copy) so You can not put MAR and Champion's Vigilance in the same Deck and Make sure for this Right now to prove I am not lying as I already tested this .
So We must all realize that CA will be very heavily nerfed xD CA will die

Burn is legit the definition of 0 counterplay.
Want to have more than 2 monsters on the field to play around their traps? Lava Golem.

Want only 1 monster on the field to play around lava golem? You'll be healing them more than you'll be dealing damage.

Want heavy spell/trap removal? Pretty much only one deck viable for that - GB

Didn't get AMA in ur starting hand? You're probs dead @turn 3-5.

Ok im sick and tired of all the cry babies: "nerf this! nerf that! nerf,nerf,nerf... ". Plus what do you want to learn in this children card game? The only skill that I will admit in this game is deck building(t1 or t2 deck only). Understanding card effect and use it when necessary not that hard. Even 12 years old can do it. Original strong meta deck building is the real skill in this game
Toniy932
Ok, lads so this is the deck i used to climb from legend to KOG. Interesting thing is this is my first time I ever hit KOG and I've been playing for 2-3 months already. Also, this was the first time i hit legend too, but with an Ancient Gear deck (been stuck in platinum for ages). I believe this was due to the fact that I was (and still am) totally f2p, but first I hit a crazy win streak straight from plat 2 to legend 1, and then after being stuck in legend for several days i started farming Alexis, which surprisingly enough turned out to be easy even with a kaibaman deck after the nerf, and I had tons of blue keys so I managed to get all the cyber angel stuff I needed. I had 2 sonic birds and 1 senju since most of my gems were spent on U-rising and Neo-impact so I decided to give CA a try. I used Pegasus mindscan but more often than not i would brick, and couldn't deal with all the backrow which is pretty HEAVY in this meta, so I had a thought ... why not add a straight flush or maybe two? And this was the best decision EVER, completely wrecks AGs, GBs, DDburn, and many more decks. As for the strategy ... well you pretty much play the same as the usual CA deck, but a bit less agressive, and if your opponent is likely to set 3 backrow just pop that tasty tasty straight flush - in their end phase is best if you can. (Also, English is my 3rd language, so sorry for grammar mistakes)

As CA is currently overplayed and widely considered easiest+toptier deck.
Its s tier for a reason.

Also similar decks with the xing trap card (can be used at 2 backrow cards already or 1 if you use your own) have been posted.

Its fine to be happy with your 1st KoG though.

Awesome deck!
Frankly, I think any (real) player should formulate their own opinions based on facts, and not in foolosh prejudices or preconceptions. Just watch the reality around you, how many CA decks have you seen at latest KC? I've faced no more than 4, and I've played a lot, even after reaching max Dlv, so, How could you guys say this deck is so annoying, broken, hateful, or whatever since is not being played a lot? (And about spoutin nonsense BS, telling people this is not a Tier 1 deck) HA! Fool! Are you the kind of player that expects 5000atk/5000def give away cards? Anyay, with CA I've beaten every single deck out there, yes! And TONs of sylvan decks as well, almost immediately most of the times, just using Hey! TRUNADE + DAKINI combo. I've been even tired of foolish sylvan players surrendering after they are no longer capable to make a comeback. Overall, CA is a really fun deck that can make you smile more than once, and it can be a pretty decent opponent against any other deck. Just follow the basic advice guys, 3 senjus are way more important than a 3rd saffira. If you only own 2 Senjus, I'd rather invest in 2 'Hey! trunade'. So you can have 2 Saffiras, 2 Senjus, and 2 Hey, trunade. Good luck to all at kc 2nd phase!
