Synergy

Temple of the Kings

With Temple of the Kings face-up on the Field, you can activate Dust Tornado the same turn it was set, giving it the similar flexibility as using Cosmic Cyclone, Twister etc.

Recommended Cards

These are the cards that can be set by using the effect of Dust Tornado, mainly because you want the flexibility to use them during your turn, or during your opponent’s turn if you have Temple of the Kings.

This is a good card that you can pick with that dream ticket.

The only card that closer to MST. But slower + you can prepare your quick-play spell/trap card to use it faster. But yeah, Cosmic is better especially if you run Aroma so 1000 lp is not problem.

After a few disappointments I've come to realize this Trap card doesn't negate any Spell/Trap cards when activated after one of them. Which means I've been basically wasting my Dust Tornado.

Can anybody please tell me why? I mean, I thought the way a chain worked was that Dust Tornado, played as 2nd chain link, would destroy the 1st link and therefore there would be no 1st chain link to resolve its effects.

That´s because the moment the other spell or trap is activated it´s effect will be executed. Dust tornado does not "negate" the spell/trap card like dark bripe or similar, it just "destroys" it.

It says only "Destroy" Not "Negate" or "Can't be activated"

I believe it's only affect continuous card, as those card need to be faceup on the field to resolve the effect.

As for others, as long as you are not negating it, it still resolving.

Just some advice you cannot negate spell or trap card with dust tornado :v

This is one of the reasons that I don't want too many cosmic cyclones. I am glad that I can use dust tornado, too.

The new Gem Knight Fusion card could give them a good advantage. But as for KOG material, we may be looking at something similar to the crystal beasts, where it can happen with good players. I can't really tell right now.

After Dust Tornado ... I think this card may come to DL although I think Twin Twisters are somewhat OP for the speed format

With 3-card S/T zones, I don't think we're likely to ever get Twin Twisters or Heavy Storm Duster personally. We'll probably get a few other cards better than Dust Tornado before long, though, like Night Beam, Galaxy Cyclone and Paleozoic Olenoides.

They were fairly easy guesses, but thanks. I'm kinda surprised we didn't get Olenoides yet, though. Especially given the Selection Box Mini debuted a Paleozoic. Maybe they're a bit weary given the impact the existing Paleozoics are having on the meta and don't want another free summon right now.
