Evaluation

RatingB-

Riryoku is a very powerful card and ranks highly in terms of card efficiency due to its ability to both decrease your opponent’s monster ATK and add it to your own. Unlike equip cards, Riryoku could only be negated by spell jammer or counter traps which could negate spell effects. Could be included in most decks that otherwise do not use effect damage to win.

Pros

  • Very useful to defeat any high level attack monster.
  • Damage dealt is similar to direct damage, since it is the base attack of the attacking monster.
  • Very flexible card.

Cons

Only useful for 1 turn.

Tips

This cards effect only lasts for a turn, so use it wisely. It's usually best to use it on targets that have higher ATK than anything you have on the board or in your hand.

Riryoku works well in any beatdown deck and is necessary to decks to get high score with Over 5,000 (9,999) Damage duel assessment.

Hey has anyone tried using it on your own monsters? I reduced attack of 1 to increase the other to see what would happen but afterwards the game would not let me enter battle phase and I just had to end my turn. Why did that happen?

Maybe there was some kind of card effect that forced you to skip your battle phase, or didn’t allow you to attack for whatever reason, assuming you didn’t try to do this on turn 1. Always gotta watch out for those cards. But this card does work with your own monsters, so that wouldn’t be the problem.

Basically the Magic Cylinder of Duel Links right now. Annoying but there are better cards out now.

Has anybody seen this card with the Card Trader in the past week or so. I haven't. Also should I get it? It feels pretty strong & can work as a substitute for cards like SRH & MW until I get them by collecting gems.

Any cheap replacemnt?

How is a card that destroys monsters and a cards that halfs attack and give other half to your own comaparable? That's like saying "lol sphere kuriboh is better than mirror wall"

If I’m reading the effect correctly, SRH only destroys the monster at the start of the damage step, your opponent takes no damage from the battle. Riryoku on the other hand could potentially end a game singlehandedly with the ATK swing it can provide. They both have their own uses, so it isn’t a perfect comparison to be fair.

I've been checking for riryoku for the past few days. Is there any kind of schedule as to when you get certain cards?

Nope, just completely random

I think UR cards should only require 1 UR Jewel.

Unless you play High score 2+ cerberus, you don't need 2nd.

Do you know that "Riryoku" means "Force/Strength" in Japanese?

Well, guess what this card is called in Japan? It is just called "Force"(フォース). Oh, and Riryoku Field is just called Force Field in Japan. Somehow the translator thinks that calling this card "Riryoku" is more straight-forward than calling it "Force".

Why Im not able to target a fusion monster like meteor b dragon with Riryoku? It doesn't make sense...

Matthew Reply
Same for me. No obvious effects in play that should have prevented this. No way he's not classed as a 'monster' card...

Maybe he had a Lord of Dragons on his/her side to the field
